MOMS Club all started when Mary James, 1983, found that there was no organization anywhere that allowed at-home moms to meet up without having to leave her kids at home. And so, she began her MOMS Club. The club made so many mothers happy that soon, other volunteer mothers opened MOMS Club all over the country and in other countries as well.
You’re probably asking, what is MOMS Club’s objectives and what does it do to for mothers who prefer to stay home? Mainly, MOMS Club aims to give support to at-home mothers, provide a venue for discussing interesting topics for them, help kids in the vicinity of the chapter and to have at least one project a year that provides service to children in need.
MOMS Club is not just a woman’s organization; it runs on several guiding principles for its members. For one, members believe that women should be free to select their own path to fulfillment. Women who choose to stay home and raise their kids are playing vital and rewarding full-time jobs. They also accept the fact that choosing to raise children at home is a family decision and entails much sacrifice financially. Finally, the club believes that raising children is not done in only one right way but its members share a common concern in doing it the healthful way.
MOMS Club operate on a set of officers and Volunteer Coordinators. Volunteers are experienced and creative in giving support to the members. They are ready with ideas and words of encouragement.
What benefits do you get out of joining MOMS Club? Aside from being part of regular chapter get-togethers, discussions and other activities, there are educational opportunities like classes, seminars, consultations, on-line programs, and workshops for support groups. There are also numerous family parties and babysittings co-ops available for all members. Members also have the privilege to join Regional, Area or State Luncheons, training sessions, officer meetings and other relevant and fun activities arranged by the International MOMS Club.
If you don’t have one near your area, why not form one? Just contact the same email address and volunteers would love to help you create one in your vicinity. Just register and you will be sent a manual that will teach you how to begin. Do not worry, a MOMS Club Coordinator will be assigned to you who will be your Big Sister as you start this worthwhile group.
MOMS Club has been a very effective support system for at-home mothers. Volunteers have made it their mission to help other mothers make the experience of motherhood enjoyable and healthful. Mothers feel appreciated and important when they are in the group. It is more than worthwhile to join the organization, it is almost necessary.
